In 2025, Warsaw transforms once again into a sparkling Christmas town, where several Christmas markets spread warmth and festive cheer across the heart of the city. The grandest market stretches out on the broad square in front of the Royal Castle, where the stalls are adorned with traditional, handcrafted wooden candle decorations and other unique crafts. Around the square, visitors can stroll between beautifully lit booths, enjoy the scent of mulled wine, gingerbread cookies, and other typical Polish Christmas delicacies, while traditional live music and folk dance create an authentic and heartfelt atmosphere.
Not far from there, right next to the Palace of Culture, there is another extensive Christmas market—a place that is hard to miss thanks to the impressive Christmas lighting and the large Christmas tree that illuminates the entire area. Here, one can rent ice skates and take a lap on the ice rink while admiring the shining light installations. In the evening, this part of the city becomes especially atmospheric when all the lights are turned on, creating an almost fairytale-like setting around the rotating market stalls.
During the winter season, the entire city is illuminated by the annual Warsaw Christmas Light Festival, a light walk of installations that stretches from the Old Town Square along the famous Royal Route all the way to Wilanów. In total, it covers several kilometers of artistically lit views that draw the public out for evening walks and contribute to an almost magical feeling in the winter darkness. The combination of traditional Christmas market stands, local food experiences, live entertainment, and spectacular light artworks makes Warsaw’s Christmas celebration in 2025 something truly special for both residents and visitors.
