Camerimage International Film Festival

Camerimage 2025 remains the foremost international festival dedicated exclusively to the art of cinematography, celebrating both established and emerging talents in shaping the visual language of film. Hosted in Toruń, Poland, this edition marks the thirty-third occurrence of the festival, which annually convenes directors of photography, filmmakers, and film enthusiasts to honor excellence in camera work and visual storytelling.

Since its founding in 1993, Camerimage has consistently evolved to spotlight the vital contributions of cinematographers. Originally held in Toruń for its first seven years, the festival later relocated to Łódź and then Bydgoszcz before returning to Toruń in 2019. Over the decades, it has become an Academy Award®–qualifying event for short documentary films in the Documentary Short Subject category, underscoring its international prestige and influence.

The centerpiece of the festival is its Main Competition, where the coveted Golden Frog, Silver Frog, and Bronze Frog awards recognize outstanding achievements in cinematography. Beyond the main competition, several specialized sections run concurrently, including categories for student etudes (awarding Golden, Silver, and Bronze Tadpoles), documentaries (features and shorts), feature debuts, directors’ debuts, and music videos, each celebrating unique facets of visual craft.

Complementing the film competitions, Camerimage 2025 offers a rich array of industry-focused events and educational opportunities. The Camerimage Market provides a platform for producers, distributors, and sales agents to network and explore co-production opportunities. Equipment showcases allow participants to engage with the latest innovations in camera and lighting technology, while exhibitions and live music performances add cultural breadth to the program.
